Maillon Rapide 12mm steel Pear (CE) BL 4400kg. N.B. CE marked Maillon Rapides with markings indicating minimum breaking loads of 25kN for the major axis and 10kN for the minor axis are approved Personal Protective Eqpt (PPE). The Safe Working Load (SWL) stamped on Maillon Rapides = 1/5th the minimum breaking load. Popular usage for pitch rigging is 7mm Long Oval and 10mm D or Delta for joining a harness. REMEMBER. High peak forces are produced with FF2 falls (ie when falling distance = twice the length of rope in use) and Maillons, Hangers, Bolts, Krabs & Harness etc. must all withstand 2000kg mimimum. Careful rigging and good caving technique minimises these risks. BEWARE!!. WD40 is unsuitable for lubricating karabiners and carbine hooks etc. because the residue left as it dries out tends to make the gate stick. 3 in 1 oil or a light machine oil is ideal
