Petzl Shunt. To protect user automatically whilst descending single, or double ropes of equal diameter, in conjunction with rope descender. Can also be used as an improvised ascender. Use only with 9-11mm dia kernmantle rope. N.B. It is imperative you understand safety critical equipment and its application before use. When practicing rope techniques it is wise to use a safety rope, in addition to the main rope, rigged in a way that enables anyone in difficulty to be lowered off quickly
